At the beginning of the movie 100 year old Rose drops the `heart of the ocean` blue diamond pendant into the sea at the place where the Titanic ship is being salvaged, before the movie begins to tell her story through the acting of Kate Winslet who evinces the bitterness of betrayal by ex-beau, Cal, who places the diamond into the pocket of her new lover, Jack, to discredit him in her eyes. Jack subsequently drowns rescuing passengers while Cal escapes with those who throw the women and children into the sea for a place in the lifeboats.

Brains later development of a a Thunderbird 6 was a De Havilland Tiger Moth biplane, which in `Oops! ... I Did It Again` is taken to refer to actress Olivia De Havilland`s role as Scarlet O` Hara`s friend, Melanie Hamilton, in the movie Gone With The Wind (1939) about the disappearing slave culture in the Southern United States of America during the Civil war (1861-5) of manumission.
